Slippers FAQ's

Common Questions Regarding Our Slippers.

Sheepskin is a natural fiber that provide a wonderful cushion of air around your feet for comfort year around. The leather is soft and conforms to your feet in a very short time, which enhances the comfort.

Our slippers run very close to your shoe size.

Sheepskin is a natural fiber and unlike cotton or polyester, it generates very little heat when a person is walking with them on. In addition, it has a wonderful absorbing ability to wick the perspiration from your skin and evaporate it through the leather.

Our slippers are available in whole sizes. If you wear a 1/2 size, we recommend moving up to the next whole size.

We recommend using a good grade of suede cleaner to remove marks on the leather. Our slippers are tanned to allow hand washing. It is not recommended to wash our slippers in a washing machine.

All slippers carry a 1-year warranty from date of purchase on all seams, straps, and fleece separation..

Rugs FAQ's

Common Questions Regarding Our Pelts and Rugs.

These are areas on the skin that naturally do not have wool on them. We reduce these areas when we finally trim our skins but do not entirely remove them, as they are part of what makes each sheepskin a unique natural product.

A lambskin rug is from a sheep that is less than 12 months old and has not developed incisor teeth. The wool has generally not been shorn by the farmer and still has the original soft wool tip (this is often referred to as baby wool). Sheepskins are from sheep that are older than 12 months and have developed incisor teeth. The two terms are commonly used interchangeably.

Sheepskins are not bleached in the way that fabrics are bleached to achieve a white color. We use minimal bleaching in our washing processes to protect the softness of the fibre. Our tanning process does result in a ‘whitening effect’ on the wool fibres.

We do not produce pure white sheepskins because we try to retain the natural color. We seek to enhance the natural color, which results in a natural ivory shade with a creamy yellow hue. Dyed or darker shade sheepskins change and cover this creamy shade.

To properly maintain your rug or pelt you should occasionally brush it with a pet brush and vacuum it using an upholstery attachment. Simply shaking out and hanging your rug or pelt letting air flow through the wool fibers is also recommended.

In the event that your rug becomes soiled or stained, we recommend that you take it to a dry cleaner specializing in leather from proper cleaning. Your rug can be carefully washed in a washing machine, in cold water on a delicate cycle using a mild detergent designed for sheepskin. Hang dry avoiding any type of sunlight or heat sources.
